Life’s changes don’t always happen on-schedule. Egg freezing helps you make future family-building decisions with clarity and confidence, without the pressure of time.

Preserve Your Healthiest Eggs

Aging can impact the number and quality of your eggs. Freezing them at their healthiest can protect your ability to conceive when the time is right for you.

Extend Your Timeline

Freezing your eggs lets you choose if and when you want to use them, giving you more freedom to grow your family on your terms.

Reduce the Pressure of “What If”

Planning now can preserve your options and provide reassurance in the future.

Why should you consider egg freezing?

When is the best time to freeze your eggs?

The earlier you begin this process, the better your chances of success later. Eggs are typically healthiest in your 20s and early 30s, but women up to the age of 38, and sometimes beyond, can still benefit from preserving their fertility through egg freezing.

We understand that deciding to freeze your eggs is a big commitment. You should know exactly what you're signing up for, so that you can make the most informed decision. That’s why we’re here to walk you through exactly what you’ll experience - so you can feel confident in making the choice that’s right for you.

The Egg Freezing Process

We’re here to guide you through every step of the egg freezing process, ensuring you feel confident and supported from start to finish.

Your first step is a one-on-one consultation where we’ll take the time to get to know you. We’ll review your medical history, perform diagnostic tests, and explore how egg freezing fits into your goals.

This is also your opportunity to ask questions and learn about what the process will look and feel like. If you and your team decide egg freezing is right for you, we’ll help you take the next steps.

Your treatment begins with at-home hormone injections to encourage your ovaries to produce more eggs. Over the next 10–12 days, you’ll visit our clinic regularly so we can monitor your progress through ultrasounds and bloodwork, and adjust your medications if needed. Once your eggs are ready, you’ll take a final injection to prepare them for retrieval.

Egg retrieval is a short, straightforward procedure that takes about 15-20 minutes. With local anesthesia and gentle sedation to keep you comfortable, our doctor will carefully collect your eggs.

You may feel some mild discomfort afterward, but most patients return to normal activities the next day. Once complete, you’ll know how many eggs were collected and eligible for freezing.

Immediately after retrieval, your eggs are flash-frozen to preserve their quality and stored until you’re ready to use them. Your eggs can remain safely frozen indefinitely, giving you flexibility and control over when to start or expand your family.

When the time feels right, your eggs will be thawed and fertilized as part of the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process. From there, we’ll work with you to guide the next steps toward growing your family.

As part of your egg freezing at RCC Fertility, you have the option at an extra cost to receive a VIOLET report after retrieval.

This personalized tool uses AI to evaluate the eggs you've frozen and provide deeper insight into their quality and potential—helping you and your fertility specialist make informed choices for the future.

Each VIOLET report includes:

  • A record of the number of frozen eggs, along with images of each egg.

  • Personalized predictions for each egg’s likelihood of developing into a blastocyst (a day five or six embryo).

  • A personalized estimate of the patient’s overall chance of achieving a live birth using the frozen eggs.
