Sometimes the first step is the hardest to take.

If you’re having difficulty conceiving or simply looking to improve your chances, it might be time to start the conversation with a fertility specialist. So when should you come in for an evaluation? The short answer: as soon as you have concerns.

But if you’re looking for a bit more clarity, here are some helpful guidelines:

  • You’re under 35 and have been trying to become pregnant unsuccessfully for 1 year

  • You’re over 35 and have been trying to become pregnant unsuccessfully for 6 months

If you’ve experienced any of the following issues

  • Extremely painful periods

  • Irregular or absent periods

  • A history or known diagnosis of PCOS or endometriosis

  • An STI or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)

  • Two or more miscarriages

  • Surgery on your appendix, uterus or ovaries

  • You’ve had mumps

  • Surgery on your testicles or for a hernia

  • Difficulty getting or maintaining an erection or ejaculating

If any of these applies to you, it might be time for a one-on-one consultation with one of our fertility specialists.
