IVF Care That Fits You

The first step is getting to know you. You’ll meet with our team, share your story, and discuss your hopes and concerns.

You’ll have a fertility hormone blood test, a review of your medical history, and an ultrasound to understand your fertility health and help us determine the right path forward.

Based on your assessments, together, we’ll determine the right path forward that meets your needs and goals. We’ll guide you through the process and costs, so you’re fully informed and confident to move forward.

Before starting treatment, you’ll meet with one of our nurses who will be your guide through the practical steps of IVF—how to administer medications, what to expect at clinic visits, and when to ask for help. This step is designed to provide the reassurance and clarity you need as you move forward.

You will be is instructed to call on the Day 1 of the menstrual cycle and will be booked in for ultrasound and bloodwork on either Day 2 or 3 to begin stimulation.

For 10–14 days, you’ll take hormone injections at home to encourage your ovaries to produce more eggs. During this time, we will closely monitor your progress with regular ultrasounds and blood tests, adjusting as needed to optimize your results.

When your body is ready, you’ll take a final ‘trigger’ injection to prepare your eggs for retrieval. The retrieval is a quick, 20–30 minute procedure performed under comfortable sedation as our physician carefully collects your eggs.

After the retrieval, your eggs and sperm (from your partner or your donor) will be combined to create embryos. We’ll monitor the development of these embryos in our lab and, within a few days, identify the healthiest ones.

Depending on your treatment plan, your embryo transfer may take place a few days after egg retrieval or later, after your embryos have been biopsied for genetic testing, frozen, and reviewed with your physician. Whether it happens right away or after careful planning, this is a meaningful step forward and we’ll be right here to support you through it.

The timing of your pregnancy test depends on your treatment plan. If you're having a fresh embryo transfer, you'll take a pregnancy test about 14 days after the transfer. If you're following a freeze-all protocol, your embryos will be frozen after testing, and you'll meet with your doctor to create a personalized plan for your future transfer. Whatever your path looks like, we’re here to support you with compassion, clarity, and care every step of the way.

No matter where you are in the process, you’ll be met with thoughtful guidance, steady support, and a team that truly cares about you.

Your IVF Questions, Answered

How do I know if IVF treatment is right for me?

IVF isn’t always the first or only option. Your care team will take time to understand your specific fertility challenges before recommending a treatment plan. Some people benefit from less complex interventions, while others may be better suited to IVF. Whatever the case, we’re here to guide you through your options with clarity and support—so you can move forward with confidence.

What are the chances of success with IVF treatment?

IVF success depends on factors like age, health, and your specific diagnosis. At RCC Fertility, our success rates are consistently above the national average—across all age groups—so you can feel confident you're in capable hands.

How long does the IVF process take?

An IVF cycle usually takes about a month. The first half involves stimulation and egg retrieval; the second focuses on embryo development, transfer, and your pregnancy test. Your care team will guide you through each step.

How often will I have to come in for monitoring?

During your IVF cycle, you’ll typically come in every few days for bloodwork and ultrasounds—especially during the stimulation phase. These visits help us track your response to treatment and adjust your medications to give you the best chance of success. Your care team will guide you through the schedule step by step.

How much does IVF cost?

IVF typically costs between $10,000 and $15,000, depending on your treatment plan and any additional services. Visit our pricing page for a detailed breakdown.

Is IVF covered by OHIP?

OHIP may cover some diagnostic tests, IUI, egg retrieval, or fertility preservation in certain cases. IVF itself, along with donor or surrogacy services, is not covered.
