Ways to Make Fertility Care More Affordable
Government Funding and Tax Credits
Ontario Fertility Program
RCC Fertility is proud to provide government-funded fertility services through the Ontario Fertility Program. This program partially covers the costs of fertility treatment for qualifying Ontario residents with a valid health card.
Funding is available for all forms of infertility, and includes a variety of treatments such as IUI, IVF and fertility preservation, and also applies to donors and surrogates. The program is available regardless of your sex, gender, sexual orientation or family status.
Availability of funded treatments is limited, so please discuss this option with our team as early as possible.
Ontario Tax Credits
In 2024, the Ontario government introduced a new tax credit to provide financial support to families seeking fertility treatment for up to 25% of eligible expenses up to a maximum of $5,000 per year.
For example, a family paying $20,000 for privately funded IVF treatment could be eligible to receive $5,000 in support. Eligible expenses include: IVF cycles, fertility medications, travel for treatment and diagnostic testing. Get more information here.
Fertility Benefits Through Work
Group Health Plans: More and more Canadian employers are starting to include coverage of fertility treatments and related costs in their group benefits plans. Ask your employer if your plan covers fertility costs.
Family Forming Benefits: If your company is a member of the Progyny or Maven networks, we’re a partner that can coordinate those benefits for you.
Grants
Grants from Fertility Friends Foundation
Fertility Friends Foundation:
RCC Fertility is a proud partner of the Fertility Friends Foundation, which provides grants to cover expenses associated with assisted reproduction such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg and sperm donation and gestational surrogacy.
Dr. Shannon Corbett grant:
We're also proud to partner with Fertility Friends Foundation on a grant to support individuals from the 2SLGBTQ+ community in realizing their aspirations of forming their own families in memory of Dr. Shannon Corbett.
