Egg donation is an effective option for women who are unable to conceive using their own eggs. A woman may not have any of her own eggs, may have had her ovaries removed, may have undergone a cancer treatment that has damaged her ovaries, or may be experiencing early menopause. In other circumstances, she may not have enough eggs or they may be of poor quality. The egg donation treatment procedure involves another woman, the egg donor, undergoing ovarian stimulation in order to produce the eggs intended for fertilization.
The intended recipient undergoes hormonal treatment, and the embryos created will be frozen. A Frozen Embryo Transfer will be planned shortly thereafter.
RCC Fertility has an anonymous egg donor program available. Please consult with your physician if you wish to receive further information.
